The match will mark the Italian’s 24th professional season in football after his debut back in 1995 for Parma against Milan.

Buffon already holds the record for the most Serie A appearances after he surpassed Milan legend Paulo Maldini on 647 matches.
The 42-year-old has also played in Serie B with Juventus in 2006-07 and Ligue 1 with PSG in 2018-19 – with this set to be his 24th campaign in senior football.
In Serie A, he has achieved an incredible 296 clean sheets from his 649 showings.

Across all competitions, Buffon has made 916 appearances for the three different clubs in his career and has a record 176 senior caps for Italy.
Juventus have won two and drawn once from their first three matches in the new season.
