Janet Jackson puts hundreds of personal items up for auction

Janet Jackson has put hundreds of personal items up for sale as she attempts to raise money for a charity benefitting impoverished children across the world.

The singer has listed items as varied as spanking crops, a condom machine and even a set of foreplay dice with southern California based Julien’s Auctions.

A percentage of all money raised through the extensive sale will go to Compassion International, a child-advocacy ministry that works with churches across the globe to liberate children from spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty.

The foreplay dice feature commands such as ‘blow’ and kiss’, while another lists various body parts – the assumption being that one must act in accordance where the dice falls. Both are available with a starter bid of $50 (£35) to $75 (£54).

Meanwhile the condom machine, which offers protective sheaths for 25 cents a piece, has been given an affordable bid of just $50.

Elsewhere a group of five spanking crops have been entered with the rather more costly ballpark estimate of $200 (£144) to $400 (£288).

In 2012 it auctioned some of the legendary outfits worn by Michael Jackson, three-years after his death, but Julien’s founder and CEO Darren Julien insists their latest auction is unlike anything they’ve done before.

He told Variety: ‘Some of the other celebrities we’ve worked with, they’ve wanted to put their feet in the water and test it out a little bit.

‘A lot of the celebrities we’ve worked with want to do a second auction and would say, “maybe in another five or ten years, I’ll do another one.” We did two auctions for Barbra Streisand, for example.
